Education verification

An education claim confirms a degree or attendance at the school that issued it. Three sources run in order, and the accreditation check runs on every claim.

Education field checks

FieldPasses when
schoolNormalized school name or a known alias matches the issuing institution
degreeDegree level and type match (BSN ≠ ADN)
majorSoft match; a mismatch is noted, never auto-fails
graduatedYear / attendedYear matches; attendance window overlaps when dates are given
accreditationSchool is accredited by a recognized agency; otherwise discrepancy with record.flags = ["unaccredited"]

Education verdicts and reasons

verified · discrepancy (a field differs, or the school is unaccredited) · not_found (the school says no record) · unable_to_verify with no_response, employer_policy (registrar declines), source_not_built or insufficient_identifiers · pending while outreach runs.

Registrar outreach follows the same cadence and contact rules as employment outreach. See also education verification and evidence.
