How West Virginia General Contractor license verification works
A General Contractor in West Virginia is licensed by the WV Contractor Licensing Board. PrimaryCheck looks the license up live at the board's public verification system (board lookup) by license number, or by name when no number is supplied. The record the board publishes is captured as evidence, hashed, and rendered into a proof PDF.
Fields returned for this board: license_number company dba classifications expires city county phone.
Board note: Three sites: wv_clb (WV-CLB, contractor FIRM licences, JSON ajax; person not printed → review) for contractor_general; wv_labor (WV-LABOR, Division of Labor HVAC technician + plumber certification lists, plain GET) for hvac/plumber; wv_sfm (WV-SFM, State Fire Marshal licensee search JSON) for electrician. No status fields on any of the three; expiration governs. Proved 2026-11-03.
